| Residence | "Rueben Hampton owned land on Hickory Creek in Warren County, Tennessee in 1808; he migrated from Wilkes County, North Carolina by way of Kentucky. Jacob Hampton of Caroline County deeded land to John Hampton III in 1777 and deeded additional land to James Shelton in 1778. He disappeared from the Caroline County records after 1778.
